Summary: This fun and informative lecture briefly outlines the history of how tea bags came to be. We will explore the different types of tea bags – the size, the materials of which they are made then talk about how tea is packed in tea bags. Lots of fun facts and vintage tea and tea bag graphics. There will be discussion about the grades of tea and tea processing – very important.
Bio: Mark is a member of the Tea Association of the USA and has completed the Specialty Tea Institute Certification Program, level 2, continuing his education into level 3.
Mark completed the professional series class at the New School of Cooking in Culver City, CA. Ask him about his smoked tea ribs and salmon poached in tea.
Mark and Stephanie Thompson launched Tea Lover Gift Baskets in 2008, an ecommerce store dedicated to creating and selling gift baskets featuring the freshest and ‘hottest’ tea and tea products on the market.
There was a demand from customers, friends and family to have a way to re-order tea and buy tea ware and tea foods separately, so in 2014, Tea Lover Teas, was opened, our ecommerce store for tea and tea accoutrements.
By day, Mark works with Northrup Grumman as a lead spacecraft test conductor, currently testing the Navy’s new unmanned fighter plane at Edward’s Air Force Base.
